The opulent halls of the Vatican, clothed in divine purpose, conceal the shadows of worldly greed. Beneath the sacred veil lies a labyrinth where power and abundance intertwine, distorting faith into mere currency. In this golden kingdom, where pop culture and political icons brush sacred relics, the divine and the profane stand united under the shadow of wealth and influence.

Excessive consumption disrupts the balance between cultural heritage and environmental sustainability, accelerating resource depletion.

“The extraction of rare earths, 85-90% controlled by China, is highly polluting and affects global technological supply chains. This intensive exploitation and its ecological consequences raise concerns about the sustainability of the Earth and exacerbate conflicts in other countries over resource access and environmental degradation.”

RG 03 Keep on Blowin Bubbles, 2014
Series ‘TO THE MOON!’ now ‘RICH GOLD’

Mixed media painting. Unique piece. Gold, blood, tea, cypress wood, Chinese inks and glass paint on Somerset cream paper, 300gsm – 76cm x 112cm.

It narrates the geopolitical panorama and denounces the illegal occupation and genocide in Gaza, among other topics. During the 2014 Gaza War, or Operation Protective Edge, more than 2,100 Palestinians, mostly civilians, and 73 Israelis were killed.

The piece is further enriched by the Tatreez Sarwa/Cypress motif, a traditional Palestinian embroidery symbolizing resilience. Since October the 7th, 2024, the latest death toll is 41,712 Palestinians and 1,139 Israelis.

Through layered imagery and symbolism, the painting urges viewers to reflect on the cycles of conflict and oppression driven by political and economic forces.

It reveals the shadows of excessive ambition, where the search for success becomes a wild race that bows to greed and power. This decadent scene is a grim mosaic of souls that have lost their essence, trapped in the promise of money.
