LOVE STORIES DONATION DESK, 2018 – present

The Love Stories Donation Desk is a participative performance or fictional pop-up office which facilitates the anonymous exchange of love stories between voluntary donors and anyone who might need them for any reason.

Audiences can participate by donating a love story or by requesting one. In order to donate a story, you must come accompanied by a loved person. Both will be asked to answer separately a questionnaire inspired in those used by migration institutions in order to validate marriages between persons of different nationalities. If their answers resemble each other and their love story complies with the official criteria for which is legally accepted as a ‘couple’, their story will be filed in our Love Stories Archive.

On the other hand, anyone can also request a love story for any poetic, personal or bureaucratic motives, also anonymously and for free. We offer, therefore, credible love stories which are able to fit within the existing laws and regulations for those who need them, such as poets in need of inspiration, people who feel lonely or those eager to marry someone from a different country – hence having to ‘perform’ a valid love story in the official validation interviews and other bureaucratic procedures they may have to undergo.

The Love Stories Archive is also exhibited to the public in different formats: exhibition on boards, printed publication, video installation, etc
