“Querer la Luna” is a participatory theatre play by Clara García Fraile, a political experiment, a game, and an afternoon tea.

Twelve more-or-less real people, embodying twelve more-or-less fictional characters, gather in a kitchen and are given the task of making, sharing, and eating a cake together.

They will be guided by a partially open script, their own imagination, and the democratic principles of transparency, efficiency, integrity, impartiality, and accountability.

Baked on the foundations of the rule of law, and iced with the individual desires we give up in order to reach dessert together, our cake will be, above all—as the moon, as democracy itself—ours, and no one else’s.
